Alguns pontos da Zona Noroeste de Santos sofrem com o despejo irregular de lixo e uma das consequ\u00eancias s\u00e3o as cr\u00f4nicas enchentes. Para diminuir este transtorno, aconteceu o 2\u00b0 Mutir\u00e3o de Limpeza Sprite Ecofaxina<\/strong> em alguns pontos da regi\u00e3o. Junto com a Secretaria de Meio Ambiente de Santos (Semam), a a\u00e7\u00e3o contou com 30 volunt\u00e1rios e resultou na coleta de 313 quilos de material nos manguezais da cidade.<\/p>\n

A limpeza se concentrou especialmente entre os rios S\u00e3o Jorge e Casqueiro, no bairro S\u00e3o Manoel. Do total coletado, destaque para a retirada de 62 quilos de pl\u00e1stico, 39,5 quilos de isopor e 27,5 quilos de borracha. Todos que participaram ressaltaram a import\u00e2ncia de participar da limpeza pelo bem do meio ambiente, dos animais e para evitar novos transtornos.<\/p>\n

Antes dos volunt\u00e1rios afundarem as botas – o Instituto Ecofaxina se encarrega de emprestar todos equipamentos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o individual (EPIs) – o bi\u00f3logo F\u00e1bio Alexandre Nunes explicou a import\u00e2ncia do manguezal. “Cerca de 90% das esp\u00e9cies marinhas se reproduzem no manguezal”.<\/p>\n

Ele tamb\u00e9m pediu aten\u00e7\u00e3o especial para o recolhimento de micropl\u00e1sticos, que facilmente s\u00e3o ingeridos pelos peixes. “De repente, quem est\u00e1 comendo um peixe, na Capital, pode estar ingerindo peixe que comeu nanopart\u00edculas de pl\u00e1stico”.<\/p>\n

Diretor de Educa\u00e7\u00e3o Ambiental do Instituto Ecofaxina, F\u00e1bio Nunes destacou que a sociedade moderna n\u00e3o precisa “endemonizar” o pl\u00e1stico, mas apenas repensar o seu uso. “Devemos pensar na log\u00edstica reversa, evitando que ele caia na cadeia alimentar”.<\/p>\n

Presidente do Ecofaxina, William Schepis ressaltou que a a\u00e7\u00e3o deste s\u00e1bado tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 ligada \u00e0 coordena\u00e7\u00e3o nacional do projeto Blue Kippers, iniciativa do Pacto Global da ONU em apoio a projetos de combate \u00e0 polui\u00e7\u00e3o marinha.<\/p>\n
