O v\u00f4lei brasileiro teve uma dupla perda nesta quarta-feira (31). Nas quadras, a Sele\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira estreou com derrota para a China na Liga das Na\u00e7\u00f5es, por 3 sets a 2. J\u00e1 fora delas, foi confirmada a morte do presidente da Confedera\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira de V\u00f4lei (CBV), Walter Pitombo Laranjeiras<\/strong>, aos 89 anos. Ele estava afastado do cargo em raz\u00e3o de problemas de sa\u00fade.<\/p>\n

Tamb\u00e9m conhecido como Toroca, ele morreu em casa, na cidade de Macei\u00f3, em Alagoas. No entanto, a real causa da morte ainda n\u00e3o foi informada.<\/p>\n

Walter Pitombo assumiu a CBV em mar\u00e7o de 2014, com a sa\u00edda de Ary Gra\u00e7a para a presid\u00eancia da Federa\u00e7\u00e3o Internacional de V\u00f4lei. Ele foi reeleito pela primeira vez em 2017 e renovou o mandato para mais quatro anos em 2021, quando pela primeira vez em mais de 45 anos houve elei\u00e7\u00f5es com presen\u00e7a de oposi\u00e7\u00e3o para a gest\u00e3o da entidade m\u00e1xima do v\u00f4lei brasileiro.<\/p>\n

Toroca se afastou em fevereiro deste ano O presidente fez parte de seu tratamento de sa\u00fade em S\u00e3o Paulo, de onde havia voltado para Alagoas h\u00e1 cerca de 20 dias. O dirigente precisou voltar ao cargo no momento do afastamento do ent\u00e3o presidente em exerc\u00edcio, Radam\u00e9s Lattari, em desdobramento do Caso Wallace. Com o retorno de seu vice-presidente, Toroca voltou a se afastar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Radam\u00e9s, que assume como presidente em definitivo, fez uma publica\u00e7\u00e3o nas redes sociais, em pesar pela morte do antigo dirigente.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

CRB, Flamengo e Mangueira, eram suas outras paix\u00f5es al\u00e9m do voleibol e sua fam\u00edlia. Toroca construiu a vida em torno do esporte. Ele presidiu o Conselho Deliberativo do CRB e foi atleta e t\u00e9cnico da sele\u00e7\u00e3o alagoana de v\u00f4lei. Al\u00e9m disso, foi vereador em Macei\u00f3 e deputado estadual por Alagoas. Nas redes sociais, a CBV tamb\u00e9m lamentou a morte do dirigente.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
