Mais de 120 milh\u00f5es de pessoas em todo o mundo est\u00e3o deslocadas \u00e0 for\u00e7a de suas casas devido a persegui\u00e7\u00f5es, conflitos, viol\u00eancia e viola\u00e7\u00e3o de direitos.<\/p>\n

Isso representou, segundo a Ag\u00eancia das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas \u00a0para Refugiados (Acnur), um aumento de 8% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao ano anterior. Se todas essas pessoas vivessem atualmente em um mesmo territ\u00f3rio, elas formariam o 12\u00ba pa\u00eds mais populoso do mundo.<\/p>\n

Esse n\u00famero \u00e9 mais do que o dobro do que havia h\u00e1 dez anos: em 2014, a Acnur apontava 59 milh\u00f5es de pessoas vivendo nessa condi\u00e7\u00e3o. “Se a cada 10 anos a gente dobrar o total de pessoas for\u00e7adas a se deslocarem, inevitavelmente os recursos j\u00e1 escassos n\u00e3o dar\u00e3o conta de responder a esse deslocamento”, observa Miguel Pachioni, oficial de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o da Acnur, em entrevista \u00e0\u00a0Ag\u00eancia Brasil.<\/p>\n

Desse contingente deslocado em todo o mundo, mais de 43 milh\u00f5es s\u00e3o refugiados que necessitam de prote\u00e7\u00e3o internacional.<\/p>\n

Refugiada, cujo dia \u00e9 celebrado hoje (20) em todo o mundo, \u00e9 a pessoa que foi for\u00e7ada a deixar seu pa\u00eds de origem em raz\u00e3o de conflitos, persegui\u00e7\u00f5es ou uma grave e generalizada viola\u00e7\u00e3o dos seus direitos humanos. S\u00e3o pessoas que n\u00e3o se sentem seguras em seus pa\u00edses de origem e partem em busca de prote\u00e7\u00e3o atravessando fronteiras.<\/p>\n

“A pessoa refugiada \u00e9 aquela que foi for\u00e7ada a se deslocar em raz\u00e3o de persegui\u00e7\u00f5es associadas \u00e0 sua nacionalidade, orienta\u00e7\u00e3o sexual, religi\u00e3o, opini\u00e3o pol\u00edtica, enfim, diferentes fatores que fazem com que ela se sinta perseguida. Nesse ato, ela tem que deixar o seu pa\u00eds de origem para buscar prote\u00e7\u00e3o internacional em outra na\u00e7\u00e3o. Ent\u00e3o, pelo fato dela atravessar uma fronteira, deixar o seu pa\u00eds de origem e buscar a condi\u00e7\u00e3o de refugiada em outro local, em outro pa\u00eds, ela j\u00e1 \u00e9 considerada solicitante da condi\u00e7\u00e3o de ref\u00fagio”, explica Pachioni.<\/p>\n

Essa condi\u00e7\u00e3o difere da encontrada por um imigrante porque o refugiado n\u00e3o pode retornar ao seu pa\u00eds de origem sob risco de sua pr\u00f3pria vida. J\u00e1 um imigrante pode buscar melhores oportunidades econ\u00f4micas em outra na\u00e7\u00e3o e retornar ao seu pa\u00eds quando quiser.<\/p>\n
