Duas opera\u00e7\u00f5es conduzidas pela Pol\u00edcia Federal (PF), junto com a Receita Federal e o Minist\u00e9rio do Trabalho e Emprego (MTE), desmontaram um esquema de fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o e venda de cigarros falsificados. Mais de 170 policiais federais cumprem dois mandados de pris\u00e3o, 41 de busca e apreens\u00e3o e de bloqueios e sequestro de bens dos suspeitos. Quase R$ 1,5 bilh\u00e3o j\u00e1 teria sido movimentado pelos criminosos.<\/p>\n

As opera\u00e7\u00f5es Sinal de Fuma\u00e7a, em Uberaba; e Nicotina Falsa, no Distrito Federal, tiveram in\u00edcio a partir de den\u00fancias de venda de cigarros falsificados ou contrabandeados nos munic\u00edpios de Valpara\u00edso de Goi\u00e1s, cidade do entorno do Distrito Federal, e de Uberaba\/MG. A pol\u00edcia investiga ainda a explora\u00e7\u00e3o de trabalhadores paraguaios, mantidos em condi\u00e7\u00f5es an\u00e1logas \u00e0 escravid\u00e3o para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o dos cigarros falsificados.<\/p>\n

\u201cO inqu\u00e9rito policial indica que os investigados teriam come\u00e7ado seu trabalho com venda de cigarros leg\u00edtimos, mas come\u00e7aram a querer lucros maiores e passaram a vender cigarros de uma f\u00e1brica clandestina, provavelmente localizada em Minas Gerais\u201d, afirmou a Pol\u00edcia Federal. O grupo usava documentos e notas fiscais falsas para movimentar os cigarros pelo pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Apesar da apar\u00eancia modesta dos locais de distribui\u00e7\u00e3o no entorno, detalhou a PF, as investiga\u00e7\u00f5es apontaram a movimenta\u00e7\u00e3o de R$ 1,47 bilh\u00e3o no esquema. Os envolvidos podem responder por crimes relacionados \u00e0 falsifica\u00e7\u00e3o dos cigarros, dos documentos tribut\u00e1rios, pelo com\u00e9rcio de produtos impr\u00f3prios para consumo, pelo trabalho escravo e por lavagem de dinheiro.<\/p>\n
