Para esclarecer algumas curiosidades sobre a sa\u00fade do c\u00e9rebro e o envelhecimento cerebral, o Dr. Marcelo Valadares, m\u00e9dico neurocirurgi\u00e3o da Disciplina de Neurocirurgia da Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias M\u00e9dicas da Unicamp e do Hospital Albert Einstein elencou alguns mitos e verdades sobre o tema. 1) O tamanho do c\u00e9rebro pode diminuir com a idade. VERDADE.<\/strong><\/p>\n

De acordo com o m\u00e9dico, a redu\u00e7\u00e3o do volume do c\u00e9rebro com a idade \u00e9 comum durante o envelhecimento. Isso se deve \u00e0 diminui\u00e7\u00e3o no n\u00famero de c\u00e9lulas, entre elas, os neur\u00f4nios, que s\u00e3o os principais respons\u00e1veis pelo funcionamento do \u00f3rg\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

2) Exames preventivos podem contribuir para evitar o envelhecimento do c\u00e9rebro. MITO.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ainda de acordo com o profissional, at\u00e9 o momento, n\u00e3o existem exames que possam prevenir o envelhecimento do c\u00e9rebro. As recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o relacionadas a preven\u00e7\u00e3o de problemas de sa\u00fade.<\/p>\n

3) Os neurotransmissores – subst\u00e2ncias que levam a informa\u00e7\u00e3o de um neur\u00f4nio ao outro ou a um tecido – tamb\u00e9m sofrem com mudan\u00e7as durante o envelhecimento. VERDADE.<\/strong><\/p>\n
